ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú’s Department for the Performing Arts and Dance Studies proudly presents the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú Dance Ensemble in Threading in Motion, dedicated to Myrtle Merritt, PhD, featuring works by student choreographers with 36 performers. The concert, artistically directed and produced by professor of dance studies Jonette Lancos, will be presented in the Alice Austin Theatre on November 13, 14, and 15 at 7:30 p.m., and on November 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 and are available at the Student Association Ticket Office or online.
Dances are mentored by the Dance Studies faculty, Lecturer Alissa Bachand, Adjunct Lecturers Deborah Scodese-French and Allison Thomashefski, and Professor Lancos, with guest adjudicator Norwood PJ Pennewell, and choreographed by students minoring and concentrating in the Dance Studies program.
The following students will present their work: Natalia Biehl-Narvaez ‘26 presents "Invisible Loss"; Payton Clark ‘26 presents "Turning Point"; Amelia Caselnova ‘27 presents "Last One Standing"; Morgan Comstock ‘26 presents "The Thief of Joy"; Sabrina LaRosa ‘26 shows "Where Memories Lead"; Julia Lingenfelter ‘26 presents "Keep the Rain"; Cadence Panol ‘26 presents "Anorexia Nervosa" and Samantha Vanderwerf ’26 presents "In the Wake of Becoming."
A new collaborative work, "Clouds Gathering," will be performed by the Dance Composition 331 class, presenting their final projects using the elements and principles of design as exhibited in images of clouds.
Threading In Motion is directed by Professor Lancos in collaboration with senior student assistants Natalia Biehl-Narvaez ‘26, Morgan Comstock ‘26, Sabrina Larosa ‘26, Julia Lingenfelter ‘26, and Samantha Vanderwerf ‘26. Brendon Doyle, technical director, mentors student lighting designers. Costumes are coordinated by Lisa Miskell, costume shop supervisor, in collaboration with the costume shop crew.
