About WGSU
First licensed in 1963 — making it the Greater Rochester region’s first FCC-authorized college radio station — WGSU serves the Genesee Valley, including the ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú campus and surrounding Livingston County communities, as a noncommercial educational station. WGSU broadcasts and streams, 24/7, a commercial-free, current-based alt-pop format and a variety of non-music programming, including news, public-affairs and sports shows. WGSU is home to ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú Ice Knights hockey.
WGSU is staffed by ºÃÉ«ÏÈÉú students under the supervision of the WGSU faculty director in the Department of Communication, Academic Affairs Division.
